I just purchased a jersey off Ebay, but while looking at the pictures, there is a tag sewn inside the jersey with the year, set number and team logo.

They are selling the jersey as an authentic unworn. I thought maybe with the label in with the set number, it was either a game issued or game worn. Am I correct in this assumption or did I just purchase a replica jersey with that added tag in it?

I do not think it is going to come with a letter from the team or from MGG.

There's a few examples of fake set tags such as Vancouver, Rangers, etc.

If it was being sold as an authentic unworn, thats probably what you got.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the tags and this style jersey are replica's. There are loads kicking around eBay. The tag says Wayne Gretzky Set 2... IF it was real, it'd say NYR Set _ .

Nice price for an Authentic anyway!!

It will still be a gem. It is the first in hopefully a line of jerseys from all sports to be added to a collection. I will be the only one that knows it isnt a true game worn.

Not to be a second bearer of bad news but lots of those Gretzky last game jerseys are not authentic but in fact far east knock offs of the starter jersey.

Can get these for $35 each with free shipping or less if you order 5 or more. I notice on one the crooked (no pun) letters of GRETZKY looks same as the ebay one.
