I just joined and am very new to collecting game worn jerseys. I do have a question. What is the general thought on getting a gamer autographed by the player who wore it? Just curious. Thanks!

if you plan to keep it forever and it makes you happy, do it

if you think you might want to sell at some point, it will hurt the value considerably

if you are going to do it regardless, most "collectors" would recommend having the player do it on the fight strap or the back of the crest

Welcome! Smiler

Do a search on here and there should be a lot of topics that cover that! Most collecters like myself don't like the jersey with a auto on it. I feel it hurts the vaule when you want to sell it. If you want a auto on it have them put it on the fight strap or on the inside part of the crest/Front Logo. But in the end its your jersey and you can do what you want with it! Have fun

On the inside would be ok, on the outside would be insane...It just looks so bad to have writing on the outside of a jersey...The ones i hate are when a note is written with the autograph.."to Jimmy my favorite fan" or something goofy ....

I have the players fart on their gamers. It adds a "personal touch" to an already personal item. Razzer

Thanks of all the good advice. I thought I read before that you really shouldn't get them autographed-they were worn by the player-that's good enough!
I just got 3 from Meigray. I've been a Flyers fan for over 35 years. Had to sell a ton of stuff on ebay to get some cash but it's worth it. Owning these are much better than a tiny swatch on a card. It is addictive-I want to get more!

It was not auto'd when he wore it in the game, so forget about it. Many collectors will not buy auto'd Jerseys simply for that reason. As previous posts mentioned, Fight stap or on the inside on the crest.
